From Kigali to Dresden: My Next Chapter Begins
I’m incredibly excited to share some personal news, I’ve officially started my PhD studies in Germany at Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden)!
This is a big milestone for me. After years of learning, building, and growing through my Master’s studies at the African Centre of Excellence in Internet of Things (ACEIoT), I now find myself in one of Europe’s top research hubs, working alongside some of the brightest minds in computing and systems engineering.
✈️ A New Journey Begins
I’ve joined the Chair of Adaptive Dynamic Systems (ADS) in the Department of Computer Engineering at TU Dresden. Here, I’ll be working on research that dives deep into reconfigurable computing, embedded AI, and high-performance system architectures, fields that fuel my curiosity and align perfectly with my passion.
The department officially welcomed me on their site, and I couldn't be more grateful for the warm reception: 🔗 Welcome to Our New Colleague - Arthur Nathaniel Mwang'onda
You can also find me listed on the team page as part of this exciting research group: 🔗 Arthur Nathaniel Mwang'onda, M.Sc. - TU Dresden Team Page, and 🔗Arthur Nathaniel Mwang'onda, M.Sc. - CeTI Team Page

💭 What This Means to Me
This isn’t just a continuation of my studies. It’s a new chapter filled with ideas, experiments, and the kind of academic freedom that I’ve always dreamed about. It’s also a chance to collaborate internationally, and most importantly, to bring knowledge back home, to inspire the next generation of engineers and researchers across Africa.
🙏 A Quick Thank You
To my mentors, my family, and all those who believed in me, thank you. Your support pushed me forward when things were tough. Your belief kept me grounded when opportunities came. I hope to make you proud.
As I settle into life and research here in Dresden, I’ll continue sharing my experiences, insights, and learnings. Feel free to reach out or follow along. I believe the best journeys are the ones we take together.
Let’s keep learning, building, and dreaming.
